Beth’s Story
Beth was raised in a brothel and forced to leave school at a young age. She helped her mother, who ran the brothel, by collecting payment from men, or rent from women. Very late at night she was burdened with having to clean the brothel after the customers had left. Beth’s mom ultimately succumbed to HIV.
As Beth tells it, by God’s grace alone, she was found and “chosen” (rescued) out of a very difficult life at age 13. Beth left the brothel and received care, counseling, and unconditional love in a home for rescued girls. She also found Jesus.
It was there that she learned of her self-worth, her dignity, and importantly, she learned she had a hidden talent — an ability to hand-make women’s clothing. Beautiful clothing! Eternal Hope provided Beth with seed money for her business. With determination, persistence, and hard work, Beth now has a successful and thriving women’s clothing business!
Very telling and a true indicator of Beth’s heart, after achieving some success, she did not have to be prompted to help others. She reached out to other survivors she knew from the girls home, and began to train them in her humble shop! Beth has mastered the art of passing on the blessing she received, to others in need. Beth leads a morning Bible study for many women from within the building where her business is located.
Eternal Hope has been blessed to be the sponsor, mentor, and sold out advocate for Beth. She is but one example of many girls we have had the privilege of impacting. Escaping exploitation, experiencing healing, redemption, and ultimately hope. Eternal Hope!
